Relationship between creativity and parenting among preschool children Parenting is potentially a prominent process which affects childs biophysical, psychological, social, and spiritual development. According to researches parenting styles have a crucial role in childrens development(Holden Edwards,1989;Baumrind,1991;DarlingSteinberg,1993;Chao,1994;Paulson,1994;Lorenz,Hoven,AndrewsBird,1995;Reissetal.1995;PalmerHollin,1996;Radziszewska,Richardson,DentFlay,1996;Holdren,1997,Querido,Warner,Eyberg,2002;Sabbatini,Leaper,2004;Dixon,Hamilton-Giachritis Browne,2005) . Due to the fact that parents are the first people who interact with children in the environment, parenting style is considered to be an important factor in childrens growth (Steinberg, Elmen, Mounts, 1989; Pratt, 1988; Xie, 1996). since it has impact on various dimensions of child development such as physical, cognitive , emotional, social and language development. Unfortunately, many parents lack information on how to provide a good home environment and how to use good parenting practices to encourage their childrens abilities. Teachers and other childhood professionals are key resource persons who can disseminate information to parents and encourage parents to choose effective parenting style. It is a well -known fact that parenting styles set the environmental and emotional context for childrens development. Many writers have noted that specific parenting practices are less important in predicting child well-being than is the broad pattern of parenting. Most researchers who try to describe this broad parental setting rely on Diana Baumrinds concept of parenting style. The construct of parenting style is used to capture normal variations in parents attempts to control and socialize their children (Baumrind, 1991). Diana Baumrind (1966) was the first researcher who made lots of effort in researching about the conception of parenting style and its various types; she classified parenting style into three types of authoritarian, permissive and authoritative. the authoritarian parenting style is characterized by being highly challenging and less responsive. The authoritarian parent is inflexible, rough, and demanding. Coarse parents usually fall in this category (It is worth saying that Baumrind added the point that not all authoritarian parents are abusive) (Diana Baumrind 1966). permissive parents are less taxing however highly responsive. The permissive parent is excessively responsive to the childs needs in the way that they rarely apply orderly rules. The outcome of permissive parenting would usually be the spoiled child (Diana Baumrinds 1966). Children are all born with certain set of characteristics and abilities which may be cultivated based on the surrounding environment. Creativity is among these characteristics and since each child is born with the instinctive ability to be creative, all children have the right to be given the opportunity to discover, use and nurture this inborn gift. All children have capacity to be creative and children should have the opportunity to show their ability to be creative (Torrance 1970). Hence parents must create an atmosphere conducive to develop creativity. Definitions of creativity are not straightforward and limited so that we come across various writers contributing to the disputation about the constitution of creativity with different views. However most theorists come to the same point that the creative process in all its different definitions share some common aspects which are imagination, originality, productivity, problem solving and the ability to create an outcome of value and worth hence creativity can be defined as a process of thinking and responding that is engaged with connecting with our prior experience, making response to incentives (objects, ideas, symbols, people, situations) and bring into being at least one unique combination. E. Paul Torrance (1997), one of the leading researchers in the field of creativity, defined creativity as the process of sensing problems, forming ideas, and deriving unprecedented solutions of unique problems with elaboration and embellishment. The study of creativity in young children has been approached form different point of views. There has been several investigations examining parental and family influences on preschoolers creativity . Bomba ,Moran, and Goble(1991) organized a study on children and their parents to explore the relationship between familial style and preschoolers creative potential. Findings revealed that children of families who were flexible in their family structure got higher scores on a creativity test. Statement of Problem The parents and learning environment during early childhood have great impact on child outcomes .There are evidences that show how parents can influence on children such as family income, parentsoccupatios and parents education. Infect parents are influential person through of the childs life. They have essential task to teach children new skills and who are the first teachers. There are several styles that parents chose during the parenting and each one has particular influence on children. Baumrid was the first researcher that use parenting style concept and other research until now show that significant effect parenting style on all aspect of child outcomes. Therefore awareness of how and what influences parenting style is significant when researches have shown relationship between parenting style and positive and negative children outcomes. Negative outcomes including: eating disorders, aggression, low academic performance, depression and positive outcome such as high academic achievement, self esteem. The second purpose of study is that provides information to parents on the effects of their styles on creativity and their childrens performance in creativity. It provides information about the creativity level of Iranian preschool children as well as provides information about parenting style in Iranian students. There are some reasons to show this study is useful : first reason is that recently there is more focus on child development than before and that parents must be more educated about their parenting styles .Second reason is that the researches show lack of awareness of parents about parenting styles they choose which has direct influence on the child outcomes .For the third reason, the findings will help professionals and educators in early childhood area to design suitable programs to parents in order to enhance their knowledge about parenting and parenting styles . Research questions The research questions for this study are as follows: Is there any relationship between authoritative Iranian parents and their child creativity? Is there any relationship between authoritarian Iranian parents and their child creativity? Is there any relationship between permissive Iranian parents and their child creativity? Limitation of study In this study only Iranian parents in Malaysia will be used as sample since I am Iranian and my concern is to inform the Iranian parents how their parenting style will influence their children creativity. The second limitation is the questionnaire is in English language. Third, this study is carry out in public Iranian preschool. Operational definitions The following concepts were nominally defined for this study: Parenting style: Parenting is a complicated set of activities which involves much particular behaviour that work independently and collectively to affect child outcomes. Parenting has such a significant role in childs life that determines the nature of children s following life and even their future parenting styles. (GearyFlinn, 2001; Keller, 2001). Darling and Steinberg (1993) define a parenting style as the emotional climate in which parents raise their children. Darling and Steinberg defined parenting style as: A constellation of attitudes toward the child that are communicated to the child and that taken together, create an emotional climate in which the parents behaviors are expressed. These behaviors include both the specific, goal-directed behaviors through which parents perform their paternal duties and non-goal-directed parental behaviors, such as gestures, changes in tone of voice, or the spontaneous expression of emotion.(DarlingStenberg,1993,p.3). Diana Baumrind conducted an interview with parents of preschool children and observed the interaction between parents and children and based on the result she believed that parenting styles have two important dimensions (Baumrind,1971,1978,1989). The first one wasparental responsiveness and the second one was parental demandigness. Parental responsiveness refers to parents consideration on childs needs. Parental demandiingness refers to the demands which are made by parents on their children to become unified into the family and the society. She described parenting style in three categories: authoritarian, authoritative and permissive . Authoritarian parenting style: Authoritarian parenting style is described with high demandingness but low responsiveness. Authoritarian parents do not express ideas or reasons behind their rules for their children and children have to follow the rules unconditionally. Attitude of these parents is that the child must do whatever they say. The authoritarian parents communicate less with their children and they use punishment if the children do not accept the rules. Authoritative parenting style: Authoritative parenting style is the most appropriate method with the best outcomes .Parents have moderate demanding and moderate responsiveness. They have reasonable requests to child, they show love and affection, and they listen to childs views, they encourage children to be independent. Authoritative parents explain to the child the reasoning behind their rules and control. (Baumrind,1966) Permissive parenting style: Permissive parenting style is described with high responsiveness however low demandingness .Permissive parents tend to give more freedom to children and less control, guidance and punishment. The child can do whatever she or he wants unconditionally. children of permissive parents show traits such as low self-esteem and lack of independency. Creativity Several experts define creativity in many various ways and each researcher has his own definition on creativity and in highest number of definitions, creativity is making new thing, originality, unusual, unexpected, valuable etc.(preschool education book). Torrances definition of creativity (1974): A process of becoming sensitive to problems, deficiencies, gaps in knowledge, missing elements, disharmonies, and so on; identifying the difficult; searching for solutions, making guesses or formulating hypotheses about the deficiencies; testing and retesting these hypotheses and possibly modifying and retesting them; and finally communicating the results (p.8). Preschool children Based on Malaysian curriculum, children between 4 to 6 is located under preschool Methodology This research is a quantitative study and the data will collate by questioners. Instrumentation: The instrument used in this study will be TCAM ( Torrance 1981) to measur creativity in preschool children and will also use a version of the parenting styles and Dimensions Questionnaire(PSDQ) (Robinson, Mandelco, Olsen, Hart, 2001) to collect data. Method analysing data is by the quantitative data analysis .Spss version 17 will be used in this study. What Caused The Financial Crisis? Essay -- Economics

The roots of the financial crisis can be traced back to the property asset bubble in the US between 1997 and 2006. This asset bubble was enabled by a poorly regulated subprime mortgage industry and the assumption that property prices would continue to rise. The collapse of the property bubble and subsequent foreclosures led to many financial institutions suffering huge losses due to their exposure to the subprime market through a series of innovative and complex investment vehicles. While these investments carried extra risk, they also gave the opportunity for massive short term returns, and the move to these riskier and more complicated financial investments may have been facilitated by a ‘too big to fail’ mentality by many US financial institutions. The collapse of the property bubble and uncertainty in the markets led to a run by depositors and a sudden loss of funding for banks day to day activities. Due to the dependence of the interbank lending market for short term funding, these banks were unable to fund their day to day operations and some collapses, (Lehman Brothers) while others were bailed out by the US government (AIG). Such a loss of confidence within the financial industry eventually led to banks operating a more cautious approach to lending and ensured a severe reduction in the availability of credit, both to other banks and consumers. I will look at the how subprime lending, assisted by expansionary macroeconomic policies and lenient regulatory supervision, eventually morphed into a full financial crisis rather than the view that such crises are cyclical in open market economies and are part of the boom and bust characteristics of capitalism. I will start to use my time wisely on my days off. I will try to keep my schedule clear so that I can concentrate on my school assignments. I will also prioritize and try to get organized. I will be sure to not try to complete every assignment all at once. I will be sure to work on assignments when I am not tired.I will also be sure that I am in a quiet and comfortable environment. This guide provides the reading and learning strategy that helps me think critically. I will focus on key points in the readings. Choosing the right environment setting to read is important.All of these tips will help me in my future classes and in my career. The Odyssey As A Great Hero - 2558 Words

Throughout the Odyssey Odysseus’ plays the â€Å"godlike† hero which set the standards for values and traits of the Homeric Greek man. Using his cunning intellect and valiant heroism to finds his way home after many trials and tribulations. During his travel home Odysseus gains knowledge about other peoples culture and about different lands throughout Greece. He learns from his own suffering and the mistakes he had made. Odysseus started his journey as the King of Ithaca and the warrior of all warriors known by the gods as a great hero. Odysseus was the commander of the Greek army and a cunning leader with the plan to win the Trojan war, which he accomplished with the Trojan horse. Odysseus had a seriously downfall however, because of his godlike status and other physical characteristics he tended to be challenged by allurement of series of different women. This temptation was one of the major roles played by women in the Odyssey. Another very important role played by women in the Odyssey was the role of support for their husbands and sons during times of war. Despite the importance of women in the Odyssey women continued to be inferior to men, and the double standards are extreme. It is the result of wide range of cooperative reform performed by Commonwealth and territory and state governments. It mainly deals with fair trading and consumer protection. The piece of law replaced Trade Practices Act 1974 and is a schedule to Competition and Consumer Act 2010. ACL is being administered by Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) (Ross et al., 2013). In cases associated with the breach of the law actions can be taken against the responsible individual. The aspects covered under ACL include supply of services or goods, grant or sale of interests in land and the supply of financial services or products. In the context of real estate transactions, ACL is associated with general ban on deceptive or misleading conduct in trade or commerce. In real estate transactions ACL also imposes general ban on unconscionable conduct in trade. Under ACL, the provision exists for making unfair contract terms void in consumer contracts. Specific unfair practices can be banned in trade and commerce under ACL (Miller, 2010). Under Section 18 of ACL individuals are prohibited in trade or commerce from engaging in conduct which are deceptive in nature or misleading or may result in deceiving or misleading the involved parties. Under Section 30 of ACL, it has been prohibited in relation to sale or promotion of an interest in land or possible sale, misleading or false representations in association to nature of the interest in land, sponsorship, affiliation or approval of the individual making the statement, payable price for land, characteristics of land, location of land, the use or utility of the land being put or may lawfully be put and the availability or existence or facilities associated to the land. This is applicable in representations associated with transactions related to sale of interests in specific land parcels. The impact on developers selling land due to infringement of Section 30 of the act may result in civil proceedings due to the damages, an injunction or a pecuniary penalty, remedial or ders (Nottage, 2010). In this context it is required to be mentioned here that it is not always required to make a representation to another individual who finally brings claim i.e. representee. The only aspect to be considered in this context is whether a misleading or false representation have been made or not, due to which on the part of the representee may experience damage or loss (Rochow, 2010). Considering the above made discussion it may be stated that misrepresentation implies a representation which contradicts the fact. An essential aspect to be highlighted in this context is, it is not always necessary for the individual making the representation to know that the statement is false in nature. On the part of the individual making the representation may have believe or perception that the statement is true in nature. However, the lack of knowledge regarding the falsehood of the statement or the perception that the statement is true in nature will not result in providing them with protection from the liability (Paterson, 2011). For the purpose of determining if a representation is misleading in nature, the entire representation is considered along with the context in which the representation has been made. Thus, on the part of either parties, without considering the related discussion, usually the context in which the statements were made, cannot choose particular statements. A mentionable case associated with misrepresentation and the aspects taken into consideration on the part of court for the purpose of considering particular representations to be misleading or false in nature is Pryor v Given (1979) 24 ALR 442; (1980) 30 ALR 189 (FC). It is with the help of the particular case scenario with the help of which the approach of court in such cases can be observed (Findlaw, 2017). The particular case was in appeal to the Federal Court of Australia associated with decision under 53A(1)(b) of the pervious Trade Practices Act 1974 (the TPA). In the particular case the court held the appellant as convict of making misleading statements related to the sale of land. Under the provisions of ACL, representations made in relation to promotion of the sale of land with the help of brochure that has been made available to the public is considered to be enough to demonstrate that an individual is associated with misleading or false statements. On the part of developers selling the land, due to associated to such misrepresentation under Sec 30 of ACL may have significant adverse impact ranging from civil proceedings related to the damage, a pecuniary penalty or injunction or remedial orders. The financial penalties that may be experienced on the part of the developers due to breach of Sec18 of ACL i.e. misleading or deceptive conduct if it is a corporation is potential compensation for the claim which is similar in case of individuals as well. It is required to be noted here that these cases are not subjected to disqualification orders or civil pecuniary penalties. However, on the part of claimant, they are entitled under the law to seek financial compensation up to a period of 6 years post the occurrence of the conduct (Corones, 2011). In case of breach of Sec 30 of ACL which deals with sale of land and for making false or misleading representations the developers, if corporations have to face financial penalties up to $ 1 .1 million or if working individually have to face financial penalties up to $ 220,000. On the part of the developers selling land, in case of their associated with certain instances of misleading or false conduct have to undergo civil proceedings and the case will be considered as civil cases, in which the financial penalty that may be imposed on the developer by the court is up to $ 1.1 million in case of corporations and up to $ 220,000 in case of individuals (Webb, 2016). The developer may also be provided with infringement noticed due to which the individual will be imposed with spot fines, which, in case of corporations are up to $ 6,600 and in case of individuals it is up to $ 1,320. It is worth noting here that in case an infringement notice is not paid by the developer the issue may result in prosecution and on establishment of which may result in maximum penalties. Unfair Contract Terms Schedule 2 of ACL regulates the unfair terms related to consumer contracts. On the part of the property developers it has significant impact and their contracts with individuals those who are not investors and may have impact off the plan sales. Under ACL the terms of a consumer contract is void if the terms of the contract is considered to be unfair and the contract is a standard form contract under the law (Paterson, 2012). In this context the concept of consumer contract is required to be discussed. Under ACL a consumer contract can be considered to be a contract regarding the grant or sale of an interest in land to another individual predominantly or wholly for domestic, personal or household use. It is on the intentions of the purchaser on the basis of which it can be determined if a contract for grant or sale of an interest land is consumer contract (Lawson, 2011). This acts as an essential aspect as most developers prefers a standardized contract in every development (Carter, 2013). The purpose of emphasis on standard form of contract on the part of most of the developers is for simplicity, consistency of selling agents along with meeting the requirements of financer. Thus, the presence of unfair terms in consumer contracts has significant adverse impact on developers selling land which includes voiding unfair term in a standard form consumer contract along with automatically voiding rest of the contract.
